Today we have a 2013 volkswagen golf, we’ll be installing LED fog lights. That is for the US the 2010 through 2014 models, this is also compatible for all golf GTI. We’re using a H11 LED bulb conversion kit that is compatible with both the H8 bulb type and the H11, H8 is what’s used on the fog lights for the golf, but the H11 still will work.
The first thing you is to connect power wire together, there are two arrows that help you guide the pins in the detect direction force that together and that pressurizes an o-ring. The panel of the wheel is your fog light access panel and on the bottom, there is a small portion where you can get your fingers in and pull and that should allow you access here to the flat light bulb.
The first thing we’re going to do is remove the connector, so down at the bottom, there is a tab. That you push down on and then you pull to release and that comes out, you then take the bulb itself and turn counterclockwise to release it.
Replace with new LED, make sure you line up the tabs and once you have it in, twist it clockwise to lock it in place. Test the fog lights just to make sure that they work, they are on really nice and bright. The last thing we have to do is tidy up the ballast, we have to mount the ballast on the side inside the wheel.
And all I have to do now to get this cover back the side, so it gets into the groove and then twist it forward and then push. And you’re all set and that’s the end of the installation.
