When many Americans think Volkswagen, they think Jetta, the German brand’s smallest and least expensive sedan. SEL Premium adds real leather throughout, “Sport Comfort” front seats that are also ventilated with three-position memory for the driver, and navigation, which can be linked up to SiriusXM for traffic and more if you shell out for a subscription after the three-month trial. No matter how automotive companies package these things, though, it all seems redundant to your smartphone’s capability, and rarely matches those devices’ familiarity and user-friendliness.
Modern Technology
The 2019 Jetta SEL Premium comes loaded with modern technology features, including a newly developed h4 led bulbs for car headlight. New to this year is the 10-inch digital display cockpit in the Jetta. With the 10-inch digital cockpit display, you will have several functions available right at your fingertips. Some of those include navigation, audio preview, vehicle status, driving data and much more. Inside the 2019 Jetta SEL Premium is an 8-inch infotainment system that includes Sirius XM connectivity, Bluetooth, navigation, Android Auto, and Apple CarPlay.
Interior Design
Overall, the interior design is sophisticated and sporty with high-quality materials. Ergonomics are simple, with three large dials to control the heat and air conditioning, and a new larger 6.5-inch touchscreen, which grows to 8 inches on the SEL and SEL Premium trims. Bluetooth, as well as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, are standard, but onboard Wi-Fi is still not offered. Other cool new features include an available digital gauge cluster that is configurable just like on an Audi, and a seriously crisp 400-watt seven-speaker Beats Audio premium sound system. Even your teenagers will ask you to turn it down.
TFT Screen
The Jetta SEL borders on Audi-light levels of equipment with its 10.25-inch digital cockpit TFT screen that replaces other trims’ conventional gauges. The screen offers several different display modes, but it works best with navigation—something exclusive to the range-topping Jetta SEL Premium. Aside from the frugal Jetta SE, it’s the SEL Premium that makes the most sense to us. For under $28,000, it’s well-outfitted with leather upholstery, heated and cooled seats up front, navigation, Beats-branded speakers, adaptive cruise control, and active lane control.
Standard tech on all 2019 Jettas includes useful and fun personalization that can store up to four drivers’ settings to select among when you get in; two also can be attached to the key fobs to be automatic. Depending on trim level and optional equipment, those settings (to which you can attach your own cute names) can include driver’s seat memory, driver assistance preferences, climate settings, Digital Cockpit configuration, ambient lighting color, led car lights, radio presets and navigation view.
